HOW TO VISIT CASA VICENS IN BARCELONA (VISIT WITH BABY)

MAY 2022

Casa Vicens is the latest Gaudi house that can be visited, it opened to the general public in 2017. I personally was surprised that it does not seem to be on the tourist radar yet, which is a shame and a blessing, so I would recommend to visit it as soon as possible. This is one of the first important buildings that Gaudi designed and I was super impressed with this strong start. It is just as colorful, magical and original as you can expect from this amazing architect.

Practical information

We bought tickets in advance on de official website. It is cheapest to buy a ticket with a time slot (€ 16), but you can buy an open date ticket for a slightly higher price. Tickets do not seem to sell out that quickly, so I would advise to keep track on the website to see if it is necessary to buy in advance. Casa Vicens is located a bit farther out of the city center, however you can reach it by bus or metro. Casa Vicens is accessible by wheelchair and a stroller. You will have to do a different walking route to be able to take an elevator, but the personnel will help you with that. There is a cafe on the premises where you can grab little bites. I would recommend to visit for 1-2 hours, it is not that big. Make sure to factor in enough time to enjoy the rooftop terrace.

Pictures to inspire you to visit

Casa Vicens was built around 1885, which you will definitely see in some rooms, while at the same time being impressed by its modernity. The colors in the garden blend in so nicely and create such a relaxing ambiance. I would highly recommend visiting this masterpiece yourself!
