HIDDEN GEMS OF LANZAROTE: YOU MUST SEE THESE UNDISCOVERED SPOTS!

For an all year great weather touristic holiday island, I was surprised to find so many unspoiled spots in Lanzarote. Lanzarote is one of the least touristy islands of the Canary Islands and I particularly loved that it felt like I was visiting Spain, we heard lots of Spanish people surrounding us. Some Canary islands are so well catered to British tourists, that you are more likely to experience British culture and cuisine. Though Lanzarote is developed very orderly, with brand new roads and beautifully decorated roundabouts, you can still discover areas that you can have completely to yourself. I dedicated this first Lanzarote blog to the spots that you find off the beaten path.

FIRST TIME FLYING WITH A BABY: OUR LESSONS

In June we were finally able to travel internationally again, after not having crossed the Dutch borders since September 2020. When the Dutch government relaxed the travel restrictions in May, we immediately booked a ticket to Lanzarote to enjoy a week of nature, a private swimming pool and Spanish dishes. We would have preferred traveling with our little camper van, but unfortunately our neighboring countries still had quarantining policies, so we booked tickets to Lanzarote instead. Luckily, we are now welcome again in most European countries, so we can do our first international trips with the van in the upcoming weeks. Flying with Hugo went surprisingly well, but we still prefer to travel by van after our experience. In this blog you can find how we prepared the flight and vacation, how we experienced it and what we learnt.

BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS AND FLOWER PICTURE ROUNDUP

It took me quite some time to write a new book recommendation post, not because I don’t read anymore because I am a mother now, but because I was let down by some highly anticipated books. I struggled through Sex & Vanity, the new book by Crazy, rich Asians writer Kevin Kwan and was also very disappointed by the widely applauded Ask again, yes by Mary Beth Keane. On this list you will find some typically me recommendations as well as a few unexpected ones. I will end this blog post with a flower picture round-up. As we are fully enjoying the flower season right now I went on lots of mini adventures to take pictures of the flowers. They didn’t always end up on a blogpost so therefore I have gathered them here.
