HIGHLIGHT OF OUR STAY IN TUSCANY: BAGNI SAN FILIPPO

When I heard that Tuscany has thermal baths I knew these needed to be on our itinerary. Therme di Saturnia is the most famous bath in Tuscany, but we decided on visiting a spot a little less popular: Bagni San Filippo. This day turned out to be our favorite day from our holiday, the thermal baths were such a special sight and the water was divine. An absolutely relaxing way to start your day! I don’t think the pictures do this place justice, but I will try with this blog.

OUR SIX DAY TUSCANY ITINERARY & WHAT WE DID EACH DAY

Tuscany was the main base of our September road trip. We are both big Italy fans, but had never explored the countryside of Tuscany before. Ever since it seemed likely that Italy’s borders would stay open for the summer, I started researching what I would love to visit in Tuscany, mainly setting my sights on the rolling landscapes with the symmetric cypress trees. We stayed the night in Florence and San Gimignano and explored the region from there. In this blogpost I will explain our itinerary from day to day, so you can use it when planning your Tuscany trip, because it is definitely a must visit region!

TRAVELGUIDE FOR 36 HOURS IN FLORENCE

I always love to go back to a city that impressed me the first time. It’s been 10 years since I have been in Florence and I was exited to show Florence to Hielke. It honestly is possible to stay in Florence for a week and not get bored. Because of its prominent role in the history of Italy (and Europe) you will find many, many interesting museums and architecture. There seems to be a point of interest on every corner and the city has a great architecture. After Florence, we left for the countryside, but Florence would also be a good hub to explore the neighboring cities and do some day trips.
