When we visited Colombia I knew that we had to visit the coffee region. I had seen pictures of the dreamy Cocora Valley and discovered that you can easily visit the Cocora Valley as a day trip from Salento. We decided to stay in Salento for three days and found that the perfect amount of time to explore this beautiful area. Read on to see what we did in Salento!

While we visited Cartagena for its beauty and the Rosario Islands for some sunbathing & swimming, we wanted to visit Medellin for its culture & history and Salento for the stunning landscapes. We are amazed by how diverse Colombia is! We decided to stay in Medellin for three nights, but you can easily spend more time in Medellin and do some day trips from there. Read on to see what we did in Medellin.

Colombia still has many locations which are not firmly on the tourist radar yet.. One of them is the Tatacoa desert. This desert is not yet frequented by tour buses and mainly has Colombian visitors who live in nearby cities. The Tatacoa desert was one of the highlights (if not the highlight) of our Colombian trip and is absolutely worth visiting. Because it is a little bit off the beaten path, you have to put in a little more effort to visit it, but that only adds to the adventure!
