TULIP EXPERIENCE AMSTERDAM: WHAT TO EXPECT

APRIL 2025

I was looking for a fun day out to explore the tulip fields and stumbled upon Tulip Experience Amsterdam. Not all farmers love people entering their tulip fields. Tulip Experience Amsterdam provides you with a show garden that allows you to take pictures in. Because it is a show garden you will find all sorts of tulips, rainbow tulips and exclusive varieties, which will look stunning in photos. I visited with my sister and a toddler and must say that the experience was quite toddler friendly. In this blogpost I will explain all about the Tulip Experience Amsterdam.

Tulip Experience Amsterdam – practical info

You can book a timeslot for your visit on the official website. We booked our timeslot two hours before our visit, the tickets do not seem to sell out quickly. If you want to be sure of your ticket, it is advised to book it online. Tickets for 12 years and up are โ‚ฌ 12 and for young kids the tickets are โ‚ฌ 6,5 per person. Your ticket also includes a few tulips that you can pick at the indoor picking garden. The show garden is open from the end of March until the beginning of May, please check the official website for actual hours. Parking is available on the premises, it might get busy though. Of course it is more crowded on the weekends, but as the show garden is quite large I didn’t find this is a big issue. Besides a show garden the Tulip Experience also has a museum in a barn, which explains about the process and history of the tulips. There is a little cafe in the barn, where you can order some simple lunch dishes, coffee and ice cream.

There are some gift shops in the barn as well, which actually sold fun souvenirs. I was impressed with the originality of the gifts. The barn is decorated with tulips and tulip paintings, which were quite lovely as well.

Of course everybody visits for the beautiful show garden! Apparently more than 4 million bulbs are planted to create the colorful fields. Tulip Experience Amsterdam has created several fun photo opportunities, such as swings, cute seats and other decorations. This personally reminded me of my visit to Fam Flower Farms fields, but Tulip Experience Amsterdam is cheaper and less exclusive. All in all, we really enjoyed our visit to the show garden and took about 1,5 hours to walk around and take photos. There are some toddler friendly items and games in the garden as well, making it enjoyable for the little ones as well. Hugo loved walking around the fields with a small wheelbarrow!

In this case pictures show so much more than words, so please enjoy the pics below ๐Ÿ™‚
