A visit to Fam Flower Farm had been on my list for quite some time and this August I was finally able to bring a visit to their dahlia fields! Dahlias are one of my favorite sort of flowers and getting to spend a few hours of quality time with them was so much fun. If you are a flower fan I would definitely recommend bringing a visit to Fam Flower Farm. In this blogpost I will explain just what to expect! What is Fam Flower Farm?
Fam Flower Farm is owned by two friends, Marlies and Linda, who are both married to flower breeders. They had a goal to spread the love for flowers and decided to start a company that organizes visits to their flower farms as well as sells flower bulbs directly to the endconsumer. By doing this they have created a strong flower brand and now you can for example buy Fam Flower Farms branded bulbs at Intratuin. I have been a long time fan of their beautiful Instagram account and have wanted to bring a visit for quite some time. Fam Flower Farms sells daffodils, tulips and dahlias. These flowers bloom in different seasons, so you get the opportunity to visit Fam Flower Farm several times a year, each time seeing different colors and flowers. A ticket to visit the flower fields costs € 40 per person. My sister and I surprised my mother for Mother’s Day and also bought a ticket for her. With this ticket you get access to the fields for 1,5 hours, get to pick a bouquet of dahlias yourself (2023: we received daffodil bulbs) and you receive information about the dahlia process. I have to admit this is a little bit expensive, but if you are a flower lover like me it is absolutely worth it. Fam Flower Farms distributes cool props all throughout the fields, such as buckets or watering cans with flowers, which you can use for your flower pics! As all the visitors are flower lovers as well, the atmosphere is really good and everybody is respectful towards each other while taking pictures. The dahlias bloom from half August – September. We booked our visit for the end of August which was perfect. The first new opportunity to visit flower fields at Fam Flower Farm is in March-April when it is daffodil season, I am secretly already planning a visit to the daffodil fields for next year. Next year I am a mother and I would love to pass on my love for flowers 🙂
