DAYTRIP TO SITGES

Sitges is a small coastal town, just below Barcelona. I visited Sitges twice as part of a daytrip from Barcelona. Sitges is an easy train trip from Barcelona – Passeig de Gracia station. You will reach Sitges in about 40 minutes (for less than € 10). It is also really easy visiting Sitges by car and there is sufficient parking near the beach.

Sitges is known as a gay destination, but also if you are not gay there is plenty to do. It mainly is a beach town, but also has a nice old town with some good lookout points. During summer the beach can get pretty crowded, but the atmosphere in the small streets stays pretty relaxed (definitely in comparison to Barcelona). If you like to experience a charming, whitewashed town with a seaside boulevard near to Barcelona, this is the perfect trip.
