During our July England trip we had the perfect summer itinerary in the South of England: visiting Rye and the two gorgeous gardens of Pashley Manor and Bateman’s. I absolutely loved having Rye as our base to explore the surrounding villages and gardens. In this blogpost I will tell you all about our experience!

One of the reasons that I chose the South of England as my July trip, was that I really wanted to visit Hever Castle. I had seen pictures of walled rose gardens and an ivy-overgrown castle that really sparked my interest. Hever Castle is a very popular and kid-friendly spot. In this blogpost I will give my honest opinion about Hever Castle so you can decide for yourself whether you would want to visit.

By the time this blog is published, lavender season is over and we have to wait another 10-11 months until we can enjoy this purple spectacle again. On my summer trip to England I was able to visit Mayfield lavender, which besides being beautiful, was also such a good activity with kids. My mother, Hugo and I met up with our friend from London and her daughter and had a lovely few hours in the fields!
